To upgrade a military discharge, you must apply to the Discharge Review Board (DRB) of your branch. The process involves submitting a DD-293 application and supporting documentation, such as medical or military records. The DRB will evaluate your case to determine if the discharge was improper or inequitable. While hearings are optional, they can provide a second chance for approval. Keep in mind that the process may take several months to two years, and there’s a 15-year limit for submitting a petition.
